LA DEMOCRATIC CLUB By Howard Mayne There will be no monthly meeting of the Lake Ashton Democratic Club in July, since so many people are out of town. Have a Happy Fourth and 250th! Important Date Reminders: The Primary and Polk County School Board Elections will be held August 18. The party candidates for Florida State Governor and US Senate will be determined in the primary. NPA (No Party Affiliation) voters may vote in the School Board Election. However, in order to vote in the primary, voters must declare a party affiliation. The deadline to register to vote or to change party affiliation is July 20. The deadline to request a mail ballot is August 6. LA REPUBLICAN CLUB By Bud Colburn The Lake Ashton Republican Club will meet Wednesday July 22 at the Clubhouse. Check-in and social time starts at 3:30 p.m. and the meeting begins at 4. The guest speakers are Polk County School Board candidates for the election being held on August 18. Sarah Corona is running for School Board District 3. Justin Sharpless was elected to the Polk County School Board in 2022 and is running for a second term for District 6. LA GETAWAYS By Judy Goldetsky Come travel with us!
