Staff is enjoying seeing residents again and catching up with residents who hadn’t been in the building in a while. With the summer heat, please don’t hesitate to come into the building for an air-conditioned walking/running trek around the Community Center. Heat exhaustion and even worse, heat stroke, can be avoided by doing so. We have added some new indoor/outdoor games and residents are really enjoying them! We are planning a corn hole tournament to be announced very soon, so get your team ready for some fun! Practice anytime. The Board is getting ready for the final budget approval for FY 2022 in August. Many hours of research and planning are done prior to this meeting and with the residents' best interests in mind. A lightning protection satellite device (the Golf Course has had the base set for years) has been approved and will be located outside the HFC Pool, for golfers, and other residents, but visible inside to swimmers as well. Automatic handicap door openers have been added to the restrooms inside the HFC. The Lake Ashton Connection is a monthly newsletter focusing on the activities and happenings at the HFC and Golf Course. It is not a formal publication, nor is it meant to compete in any way with the LA Times. Staff within both CDD’s work very hard to provide programming for everyone. Having different activities at both locations at the same time is extremely rare, but on those rare occasions, if viewed as opportunities for all to recreate or have options they shouldn’t be viewed as competition. For those of you who are vacationing away from Lake Ashton this summer, be safe, make memories and we look forward to your return. For those who go “up north,” have fun and make memories. We look forward to your return as well. For those residents who live full time here in Lake Ashton, enjoy the opportunities that both CDD’s have for you with events and fun things to do! We’ll help make some great memories here and think how great it will be to share all the memories when everyone returns!
