LAMGA By Paul Fichtman The June highlight event was the 2-day LAMGA Open held June 9 and 10. This was a Ryder Cup style event that pitted half the field playing as the Red Team against the other half as the Blue Team. The Blue Team won the event by a score of 34½ to 31½ points. The event included breakfast on Day 1 and lunch on Day 2 in the Eagle’s Nest. Thanks to both the Pro Shop and Eagle’s Nest staffs for hosting and running a very successful event. LA NINERS By Diane Struble With the rainy season here, the Niners have made it their goal to help preserve the beautiful courses by setting the example and encouraging others to do the following as well. • Checking morning email blasts for course conditions • Riding with 2 golfers per cart • Filling divots — be sure to keep your sand buckets full • Avoiding wet areas • Not driving golf carts on residents' lawns • Replacing ball marks, even if they are not yours • Only following the cart paths and 90-degree directives • Reporting any course damage you may see Courses have vastly improved,so everyone should do their part by being considerate, mindful, and keeping them in great shape.
