CARING TREE By Marsha Bishop Fantastic job, Lake Ashton Residents! Thank you so much for making a child's Christmas extra special. As of December 9, 2025 we were over 400+gifts donated, with the collection running until December 22. I would also like to thank all the elves that helped deliver the gifts to the Care Center at least twice a week since the beginning of November. Another great season of giving from our great community. CRAFT ROOM DEDICATION By Amity Kokochak Blankets of Love at Lake Ashton (BOLLA) is pleased to announce that the Clubhouse Craft Room will be dedicated to the late Patricia “Pat” Neaves on January 12 at 12:30 pm. Christine Wells will do the dedication and present a plaque to be displayed in the room. Several members of Pat and Don's family will be there. Members of BOLLA, LAVA and LAVA Auxiliary are all invited to the dedication and the reception following in the Ballroom from 1 to 3 pm. Pat was President of BOLLA from 2012 through 2022 until she and Don moved to Pennsylvania to be near family. Don and Pat were also very active members of LAVA and LAVA Auxiliary while living here. See more BOLLA news on page 28. HOMELESS GRADUATING SENIORS 2026 A fresh year full of dreams and goals. For some students those goals will seem impossible! You could help them on their road to success at college. At their graduation party we will present them with a duffel bag with bedding and domestic items. Each bag filled cost approximately $150. Each will receive a computer tablet at the cost of $200 for their future college career. Domestic items include shampoo, tooth paste, deodorant, comb, brush, sheets, blanket,lotion, mouth wash etc. We will also award scholarships.Financial or domestic donations are accepted in any amount. Large or small is a huge help. There will be approximately 120 to 130 needy students. You can donate at either Activities Desk or I will be at the Monday Coffee meetings, or can pick up if you call me at 217-652-6636.
