did to make sure our less fortunate Lake Wales and Winter Haven area neighbors enjoyed their holiday. We made several trips with our car loaded with more gifts than Santa's sleigh. SUPPORT YOUR COMMUNITY CLUBS, GROUPS, AND ORGANI ZATIONS BE A SANTA TO A SENIOR By Kathy Jusaites On behalf of Home Instead of Winter Haven, a great big thank you for your generosity and participation in our Be A Santa to a Senior program. Thanks to those who participated , we were able to provide gifts to over 50 seniors living in our local facilities. Another successful year! THANK YOU, LAKE ASHTON! By Fred Halde You did it again, Lake Ashton! When the call went out from Toys for Tots, you responded just like you always have. However, this time was different, in that you not only gave a mountain of toys, but you provided a treasure of cash, which enabled TFT to purchase special gifts which are requested. I was proud of our community to show up about every third day at the warehouse and say, “These are from Lake Ashton!” After a while, I didn’t have to say anything…they just knew. So thank you Lake Ashton for your generosity, from Toys for Tots, Rotary on the Ridge, myself and a whole lot of smiling children. You did it again!! CARING TREE By Larry & Joanne Hillock We want to give everyone at Lake Ashton a great big THANK YOU for all of your donations to the Lake Wales Caring Tree. The Care Center Is extremely happy with Lake Ashton for all we 6 Residents interested in joining a new group should visit the Clubhouse or HFC Activities Office to obtain the contact information for the facilitator of the club, group, or organization they are trying to join. All clubs, groups, and organizations are open to every resident. Staff always encourages residents to become more involved in community activities designed to benefit the body, mind, and spirit and with the support of the many club, group, and organization facilitators this will be possible for everyone. Supervisors and staff would like to extend a special thank you to all the club, group, and organization facilitators. These are all volunteers that work very hard to ensure there is a robust activities schedule for all residents to enjoy. Lake Ashton is lucky to have a large number of residents willing to volunteer their time in one way or another for everyone to live their best retired life. Be sure to thank a volunteer when you see them! Thank You The family of Ron McDonnell would like to thank all the friends and neighbors who were so kind and supportive during his illness, especially the Scalis, Pritchards, Geyers and Wagners. The visits, calls, texts and meals were very much appreciated and proved why Ron loved living in Lake Ashton so much. A celebration of his life will take place at the Eagles Nest on Sunday, February 4 at 3 pm.
