GARDEN CLUB By Lynn Davis The Lake Ashton Garden Club met December 14 and the results of a recent survey were presented. In order to accommodate more residents, the survey offered an opportunity to suggest the best days and times for future meetings. Since there was a tie, the club members in attendance agreed to hold meetings on the second Thursday of each month January through April and on Wednesdays May through December. Tentatively planned for upcoming meetings are: garden tours in January and March. Gene, the Barefoot Gardener, also spoke on how to help struggling poinsettias in February. After the meeting the group had a fun time with a gift exchanged known as “Dirty Santa” (renamed Garden Troll Santa). New and existing members ate cookies and enjoyed apple cider, coffee, tea or hot cocoa. The next Garden Club meeting is tentatively scheduled for January 12 at 10am. There will be meeting prior to heading over to a Lake Ashton’s residence for a garden tour. Here is an opportunity to learn more about the use of succulents with success in landscaping.
