This is a very busy time of the year for most…a happy time with family, friends and lots of fun things to do for many. However, others may be struggling with the “first” holiday season alone or yet another without a loved one, so please be kind to everyone and take the time to listen to your neighbors. The next LA II Board of Supervisors meeting will follow the Budget Planning Workshop scheduled for Tuesday, January 10th. The workshop begins at 9 AM and the regular meeting will follow. The next Joint Boards of Directors meeting will take place at the HFC on Friday January 20th. At the last Joint meeting, the review of the Joint Amenities Policies was discussed, and Christine and I are both awaiting final approval so that we can move forward with the new policies for 2023. The HFC welcomes new participants into the Fitness Classes if you’ve made a resolution to get more fit in 2023. If you don’t know which class to start with, stop over, speak to one of the instructors or staff, or audit one to see if it’s a good fit. All LA II CDD sponsored classes are free of charge to residents Monday thru Friday AMs. Of course, we welcome back residents who have already taken the plunge! There will also be a DJ Dance on lucky Friday, January 13th. No negative vibes allowed, only fun and dancing! The Annual Fitness Expo will be on Friday, January 27th with many vendors offering products, services, and freebies for all who attend. The timeframe will be from 8 AM until noon for this event. Door prizes are of quality and plentiful as well. It’s been a busy year for the Lake Ashton II CDD. Many issues have been implemented, resolved, replaced, or fixed. I’d like to thank the LA II CDD Board, volunteers, and my staff for their teamwork throughout the year. Christine and her staff, and the LA I CDD Board have also been great to work with. Also, a huge thanks of course to the many residents at Lake Ashton who make coming to work a pleasure! As I end 2022, I have a rumor to clear up. As of the end of February, I will be retiring and moving to South Carolina. Family is important to us, so we have made the decision to move closer to them. We may however, become snowbirds after a year or so. Please know that I have enjoyed my work here at Lake Ashton since early 2006 immensely and will think back fondly to many, many fun times. I wish only the best for everyone here. 10
