As always, the LALGA has had a very busy December. Not only do ladies play golf but We Care for Kids brought in 214 toys for the annual toy drive. Kudos to Nancy Zografos for her leadership of this activity. Thank you Lake Ashton! The Red Hoagland Challenge started this November and will run through the end of May. Those LALGA members who are the highest money winners will receive Pro Shop credits from Red Hoagland Hyundai in the denominations of 1st place $80, 2nd place $60, 3rd place $40 and 4th place $20. The following four women are the top money winners to date: Linda Franz $25.25, Janice Fleming $23.50, Sue Buss $22.00 and Deb Louder $20.25. The numbers are finally in and the Pink Ribbon Golf Tournament donated $34,692.06 to the Watson Clinic Foundation. A formal presentation will be made to the clinic in January. Again, thank you to the committee for its tireless work in making this tournament the best it can be and the Lake Ashton community for its support. She attended Butler County College and became an LPN. She met John Milsom at a high school reunion and they have been together for the last 10 years. She and John are temporary snowbirds but they plan on making Lake Ashton their full time residence in the next year. As she said, they “found the light.” Sandy and John were looking for a pet friendly 55+ community, as they have two dogs, and they came across Lake Ashton. They drove through the front entrance and Sandy said, “It was like someone had sprinkled pixie dust on me.” She was hooked from the very first visit. They looked at homes one day, put a deposit down the next and went to the design center on the third, as they were returning to Pennslyvania. Sandy has been playing golf on and off for about 15 years but only played 9-hole games up north. She enjoys playing with the 18-holers especially since there is a variety of games played. In addition to golf, Sandy enjoys Bunco, Aqua Motion, her neighbors and traveling with a group of women whom she’s known for 25 years. They enjoy traveling all over the world. Welcome to the LALGA and Lake Ashton Sandy Hockenberry!
