EVENTS LA CRUISE-IN WRAP-UP What an amazing car show this year! There were 29 (yes, 29!) cars judged and 35 cars in total. And the weather could not have been more perfect! All in all, it was a wonderful day. A special thanks goes out to sponsors Gessler Clinic and Performance Plus, as well as the judge Patrick Russell, and the residents who took part in this year’s third annual LA Cruise-In Car Show. 2021 Winners (photos by Rich Comstock): Best Classic Blevins Hensley with his 1965 Mercury Comet Best Modern Lee Holman with his 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Crowd Favorite Chuck Luck with his 1997 Miniature Peterbilt SemiTruck on an F-250 Chassis TURKEY TROT BENEFITS LAKE WALES CARE CENTER The Inaugural Lake Ashton 5K Turkey Trot, held the Monday before Thanksgiving, was a great success. All participants were invited to enjoy a hot breakfast when they completed the course. A check presentation was held at Monday Coffee in the Clubhouse on 24 December 6. CHRISTMAS DINNER DANCE By Jackie Ellis, Debby Landgrebe & Lynn Shelton It was a beautiful evening decorated in black and red with a touch of gold to light up the ballroom for all Lake Ashton friends to enjoy. The blessing was given by Peter Perez, there was Christmas music by Rusty Trumpet Band, and great food provided by Cam's Catering. Please remember the great sponsors with a thank you if you’re looking for a future purchase: Cammeo’s Salon & Day Spa, Arts Golf Cars, Inc., and Huston Cadillac, Buick & GMC. A HUGE thank you also goes out to all who gave their time and efforts in decorating and clean-up, which was a big job! Thank you each of you. For the last ten years Jackie Ellis has done an outstanding job organizing and hosting the annual Lake Ashton Christmas Dinner Dance. At the December event she announced she would be retiring from this role and passing the torch to cochairs Lynn Shelton and Debby Landgrebe. Jackie leaves big shoes to fill and all are grateful for everything she has done and the guidance she will give going forward. Thank you, Jackie! Hope you all plan to attend the 2022 Christmas Dinner Dance, but until then, have a happy and healthy New Year!
