The Holiday Classic Cornhole Tournament on December 7 turned out to be lots of fun and great competition for the teams. The Popcorn Team came back from the losers’ bracket to take home the first prize trophy and money. Sponsoring was Lake Ashton resident Jim Weaver, who has been a strong pillar for the cornhole tournaments at the HFC. First place winning team members of Popcorn are residents Ted Harmon and Ervin Konrad who endured eight straight games to take home the top win. Second place winners are Tom Graaman and Ralph Ritter. Third place winners are Tammy and Robbie Shields. Congratulations to these skilled cornhole enthusiasts! The tournament was a successful group effort by the residents who participated, Tournament Coordinator Ken Keding, volunteer scorekeepers Danny Freedman, Gerald Revet, James Margeson, and Roger Bosman, and the entire HFC staff. The next tournament will be March Maddness on March 4. Get your teams ready by coming to league play that starts in January! Watch for more news on the tournaments and league play coming soon. If you have any questions about playing, contact the HFC Activities Desk at 863-595-1562. 2021 HOLIDAY PARADE Golf carts, bicycles, pets, specialty cars, performers, and walkers kicked off the holiday season with a festive parade that started at the HFC and ended at the Clubhouse with participants and spectators enjoying refreshments, special holiday drinks, and a sing-a-long with the LAdybugs Quartet.
