GOLF LA NINERS By Sandy Hockenberry Brrr … January was a cold one, but the Niners persevered! On January 7 the temperature was in the low 40s. “The 10 committed, or perhaps the 10 should be committed. It was definitely cold, but we had fun!” said Niners Treasurer MaryLou Jameson. The Niners enjoyed participating in the Ringer Tournament on January 9 and 10, despite the chilly weather. Congratulations to the winners: 1st Gross with a score of 40, Lisa Snook and Karen Ferrande; 2nd Gross with a score of 42, Fran Salb and Joan Senecal; 1st Net with a score of 23, Mary Lopez and Beth Buie; 2nd Net and Most Improved with a score of 25, Linda Reardon and Denise LaCaprucia. Pictured at right: Denise LaCaprucia (President) and Linda Reardon February will be a busy month for the Niners. February 4: Tiara-Tutu Tuesday – 2 Putt Max. Wear your favorite Tiara and Tutu, record no more than two putts per hole. February 11: Tee It Up Over the Water Scramble. This is a 2 person scramble, you get to tee up when hitting over water. February 18 and 19: Niners/Blueman 2-day Ringer Tournament (Make-up date). Lunch to follow the tournament on February 19. February 25: Throw Out 2. Throw out the two worst holes at the end of the round. Low gross/ low net scores win.
