LAKE ASHTON GARDEN CLUB By Lynn Davis The Lake Ashton Garden Club Team are pleased to announce an informational presentation on how to care and maintain Christmas cactus' or other cacti. The guest speaker, Gene, the bare foot gardener, will be presenting useful techniques on how to care and make the most of your cactus. The presentation will be held at the Pavilion on December 14 at 10 am. Gene has been a wonderful source of information in the past. Here's an opportunity to ask questions about a low maintenance plant. Members and non-members welcomed! Hope to see you on December 8. For more information, call Jane Imparl at 815-545-6655. SINGLES GROUP By Maureen Ziegler LA Singles is a social group that plans activities for single residents. The group meets monthly on the first Sunday of the month at 2 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom. In November, the group of over 20 discussed several planned outings and get togethers. The group had a wonderful time touring the Tampa Aquarium in October (pictured). Discussions in November included a Christmas get together, Wine and Cheese Social at the Pavilion 37 and a luncheon at the Hotel Jacaranda in Avon Park in January. Donations are still being collected to provide gifts to Senior Orphans. If you would like to take part in activities with other singles, attend the meeting on December 5 in the Clubhouse Craft Room and Card Room.
