LALGA By Lydia Fichtman and Bev Hines Congratulations on these holes in one! Liz Leigh (left) made a Hole-in-One on June 20, 2026 on #7 on the West Course. T Utting (right) made a Hole-in-One on #8 on the East Course on July 17, 2026. The LALGA Summer Tournament set sail without a wave! This year's theme, Cruising Down the Fairway, brought two days of fun, friendship, and great golf. The festivities began with a Las Vegas-style golf game often featured on cruise ships. Each golfer played her own ball, but after every hole, the roll of a die determined which player's score counted for the team. This exciting format continued through all 18 holes, keeping everyone guessing until the very end. Along the course, golfers also "visited" popular cruise destinations—including Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, and more—where they learned interesting facts about each port of call. Day two featured a traditional scramble, followed by a delicious luncheon of chicken salad on a croissant, fresh fruit salad, tossed salad, chips, Italian ice, and a beverage. The specialty drink of the day, a refreshing piña colada, added the perfect tropical touch. The beautifully decorated tables featured charming sea-themed centerpieces, creating the feeling of a true cruise vacation. As a special keepsake, every participant received an adorable Cruise Life T-shirt. A very heartfelt thank you goes out to the tournament committee: Lydia Fichtman, Cheryl Winchester, Cheryl Coveleski, Denise Prongay, Sandy Brown, and Bonnie Simonetta, whose hard work, creativity, and dedication made this memorable event possible.
