THE GOOD SAMARITAN RESCUERS By Liz Leigh All of Lake Ashton was notified by the Polk County Sheriff’s department that a lady resident was missing on the evening of Wednesday, July 8, and if anyone had information to contact the Sheriff’s Department. She was last seen on Hogan Lane. Matt Boesel and his family were visiting his dad, Dick Boesel, for a week. They were at the Clubhouse pool and saw the helicopter and realized that something was happening and were told about the missing person. The four of them drove a golf cart and decided to see what was going on and try to help find her. They went for a drive and kept calling her name, and finally found her in a car in a driveway on Strathmore Drive, the same street where they were staying with his dad. She was disoriented, very hot and sweaty. A little later a group of searchers also came by and all ended well. This is an example of how Lake Ashton residents and their families watch out for each other. Matt, Carrie, Ella, and Dax Boesel were Good Samaritans. Let us all continue to be Good Samaritans to each other. LA HANDS 4 HOPE By Debby Landgrebe The last day to bring donations for Inwood Elementary School in Winter Haven is August 4.
