LAMGA By David Kubissa Many Niners enjoyed the annual Niners/Blueman Par 3 Scramble on July 2. Congratulations to the winners: First Flight: 1st Place Tom Hicks, Dot Bothwell, Jerry Ryan, Raiette Avael 2nd Place Dana Ferrande, Sara Rogers, Marie Clauser, EZ Blakemore 3rd Place Steve Beck, Sue Koyish, Mary O’Donnell, Larry Eason Second Flight: 1st Place Robert Sosinski, Sandy Papineau, Jane Poole, Bill Testa 2nd Place Bruce Bellemeur, Janice Serencko, Brenda Bowden, Don Tuttle 3rd Place George Picha, Donna Butch, Linda Reardon, Bill Bothwell The tournament was followed by a delicious lunch of flat bread pizza, wings, salad and make-your-own ice cream sundae at the Eagles Nest. The summer exodus has thinned the size of the weekly LAMGA field, but not the opportunities for fun and competitive games. The LAMGA schedule includes a featured monthly event in July, August and September, and it all started with the July 10 Beat the Board game followed by lunch in the Eagle’s Nest. Eleven teams – including one representing the board – teed off on the East Course, and when the round was over, only one had beaten the board. Denis Lussier, Charlie Mutz, Don Connors and Harry Krumie pulled out a one-stroke win over the board team of Rolly Geyer, Larry Wilson, Jim Shillito and Tim Wayt. August has another game and lunch in store with a pickyour-partner event. Check the calendar on the bulletin board and LAMGA web page (LakeAshtonLiving.com) for more details. And then there will be a two-day event on Sept. 11 and 12, structured around the President’s Cup that takes place later that month between U.S. and international teams. This outing includes breakfast on Day 1 and lunch on Day 2. Save the date, and stay tuned for details. (Continued on p. 38)
