LACDD NEWS By Christine Wells, LA (LW) CDD Community Director And just like that, we are more than halfway through 2024. It’s been a hot one but Lake Ashton has many options for residents to enjoy summer comfortably. With a beautiful pool, indoor fitness options, shade throughout the outdoor amenities, and many other indoor activities, it is easy to enjoy LA summer without getting bogged down by the heat. Volunteers and Staff have worked hard the past few months to plan out activities for the rest of this year and even into next year to ensure resident's calendars stay full. Thank you to the Lake Ashton Activities Advisory Group (LAAAG) for their help with this enormous task! Clubhouse and HFC staff are gearing up to start distribution of credentials for the new access systems that were installed. Stay tuned to electronic media for more information on when and where you will be picking up your credentials. It is important that you bring all information requested in an effort to facilitate a seamless distribution. Please refer to page 7 for more information. This is a great time to ensure you are receiving emails from both CDDs. If you need help with this, please contact staff at the HFC or Clubhouse Activities Office. If you are traveling or unable to make it during the date and time that is set for you don't worry, there will be plenty of time for everyone to get their credentials before the system is officially switched over. Any questions can be directed to Christine Wells at cwells@lakeashtoncdd.com or Karen Van Kirk at maintenance@lakeashton2cdd.com. On July 15, Lake Ashton CDD Board of Supervisors met to adopt the Fiscal Year 2025 budget, set the operations and maintenance assessment, and attend to Board matters. The yearly assessment for Lake Wales residents was set at $2,569 and will be included on the tax bill that is sent out at the end of this year. The reciprocal agreement with the new owners of the Marina was approved. A quote was approved to paint the Clubhouse, Pool columns, Pavilion, Shuffleboard area, and Guard House. A wrap-up report of all actions was sent via email on July 19. The agenda packet with all related information can also be found on lakeashtoncdd.com.
