Staff welcomes guests visiting for the holidays and wishes safe travels to those leaving for the summer. Residents leaving can remain in touch with their community while away by reading the electronic version of the newsletter, participating in CDD meetings via Zoom, and keeping up to date with community happenings through email blasts. For those remaining in Lake Ashton throughout the summer, Staff is working hard to create a fun summertime activities schedule including the third Annual Summer Music Series featuring local bands playing at the Clubhouse and HFC from May to August. Check out the schedule on page XX. Also, a HUGE Fourth of July celebration is the works. Stay tuned for more information! April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month, a time to celebrate those who dedicate their time to be stewards of this community. This is a perfect time to recognize and say thank you to the volunteers who work hard to ensure Lake Ashton maintains its reputation of being “Simply the Best.” Lake Ashton has a plethora of volunteers. These volunteers, among hundreds of others, work hard to ensure residents, like themselves, have an enjoyable experience at Lake Ashton. March was full of many resident events — check the events section for wrap-ups and pictures! Lake Ashton residents are truly amazing, not only because of their immense amount of talent, but their willingness to help those in need. A budget workshop and regular board meeting was held on March 16. During this time of year Supervisors and Staff are actively working on the preliminary 2027 budget. Residents are encouraged to attend both LACDD and LAIICDD meetings to be part of the budgeting process and let your opinions be heard. A wrap up report of actions taken at the March meeting was sent out on March 25. Changes to the Joint Amenity Facilities Policies were approved at the Joint CDD Meeting on March 19. Below are some of the changes. An email blast will be sent with the updated policy. • Renters/Leaseholders are not guests and may not be issued guest passes. Please note: a lease agreement for at least 90 days must be provided to receive an amenity access card for the length of the lease. • No animals except for service animals assisting an individual with a disability are not permitted at Amenities Facilities with the exception of Pet Parks, unless a special event allowing pets has been approved by the Amenity Manager. “Comfort”, “Therapy”, or “Emotional Support” animals do not meet the definition of a service animal and are not permitted. Pets must be always leashed and under control of an adult handler. Handlers are responsible for picking up after their pets and disposing of any waste in a designated pet waste receptacle. • In the Fitness Centers, each TV is equipped with closed captions. Volume shall not be used. 8
