LA SWIM CLUB By Sandy White LASC member Steve Armstrong represented Lake Ashton on March 7 & 8 at the 2026 Polk County Senior Games. He swam in three events and came home with a Gold and two Silver medals, plus qualified for the state championships and the opportunity to try to qualify for the National Championships. The Polk County meet was one of a number of qualifying meets in every state. Steve hopes more LA residents will join the club and participate in future meets as a Lake Ashton team. LASC practices are open to those who wish to swim for fitness or competition and are held at the HFC indoor pool Mondays & Wednesdays at 1pm and Saturdays at 10am. For additional information contact Coach Sandy at sandyw1994@aol.com. LA PICKLEBALL By Dennis Santino As snowbirds are beginning to leave the pickleball activities and fun continue all year long. We had a very eventful March. The Lake Ashton travel league completed another competitive season. We would like to thank all of the members of the Ladies A Team and our Killer Bezz. We are proud of how you represented the Lake Ashton community. Our St. Patrick’s mixer and tailgate was a lot of fun. We also held some pickleball clinics and held a clinic with the pickleball machine. The Lake Ashton Pickleball Association began our members mix doubles tournament. We play on Monday at 6 pm. We encourage you to come up and watch and cheer All Lake Ashton residents are invited to come out on Mondays and Fridays from 10 am to 1 pm to play some fun games of Bocce Ball. No experience is required. Anyone playing would be more than happy to teach you. Friendly Bocce Tailgate parties will be held April 3 and 17 from 4 to 6 pm. Bring drinks and an appetizer to share.
