EVENTS EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE ByDebby Landgrebe Rejoice and celebrate the blessing of Resurrection Sunday on Easter, April 5. Bring your golf carts, blankets, family, friends, visitors and neighbors. Most of all bring your heart prepared to sing praises to the Risen Lord and be filled with abundant joy! Come early as Service will begin promptly at 7 am at the Clubhouse garden/lawn overlooking Lake Ashton. Gather to hear a local pastor and sing wonderful Easter hymns. For those planning to attend their own church service, the Sunrise Service will conclude by 8. Seating will be available as well as golf cart parking. An offering will be taken. April is Volunteer Appreciation Month, and we want to celebrate our Volunteers with a Block Party featuring an outdoor cookout April 25 at 3 pm in the Clubhouse West Parking Lot. An invitation will be mailed to volunteers. Please RSVP to receive a VIP wristband 26 at and will be able to sit in the VIP area to enjoy a free meal and live music by Spankin’ Sadie. Residents can celebrate our Volunteers by attending the Block Party, Don’t forget your lawn chairs! KENTUCKY DERBY PARTY FUNDRAISER By Jill Groves Plans for Derby Day? Save the date! On Saturday, May 2, the LA Pebbles & Pines Social Club will be sponsoring a Kentucky Derby fundraiser to support “A Heart for Heroes, Inc” (Horses Empowering Riders and Others). This non-profit works with Special Olympics athletes, veterans, abused women and children, persons with special needs, Lighthouse for the Blind, and more, in Bartow, at the Rockin’ W Ranch (http://www.aheartforheros.org). The fundraiser is 5 to 7:30 pm at the HFC. It is FREE to attend, but we ask that you bring an appetizer, BYOB, and some cash to support our cause. We will be watching the Kentucky Derby and have planned fun activities such as a Best Hat Contest, games, and more. The entire Lake Ashton community is invited!
