Add ice to a large wine glass and pour in all the ingredients. Give it a little swirl and express the oils from the orange peel by squeezing it from its sides. Enjoy! 2. Often enjoyed neat or in classic cocktails like the Negroni and Boulevardier, Italian bitters are a beloved and distinctive category of spirits that encapsulate the essence of Italian drinking culture, particularly the “aperitivo hour.” Initially developed as a medicine, these complex and aromatic herbal liqueurs are renowned for their balance of bitter and sweet flavors and gained popularity in the 1800’s where they were appreciated for their balanced flavors and low alcohol. Eventually people would begin to mix them with Prosecco and the spritz was born! We love the idea of keeping an Aperol Spritz handy at all times, which is why we’ve put ours on tap at The Coalman! A spritz is truly the drink to drink when you’re having two!
