Parker Junior High parker press January 31, 2024 Issue № 2 The Rise of DC By: Emma Figueroa The first DC comic, “New Fun,” was published in 1937. It was about a cave boy wandering around and seeing lightning strike before discovering fire. Now, the DC industry is booming and is more successful than ever. The main central idea DC is famous for is the Justice League. It consists of a team of Superheroes– some of the names of the most famous ones are Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg, and the best for last… Batman! Fun Fact!! The first DC Comic, “New Fun,” costs about $57,000,000 today!! They all have very tragic or traumatizing backgrounds, from what I learned. Overall, DC now creates movies, live actions, and more comics.
