Highest-Grossing Tours of 2023 by: Isadora Guidino As we move into 2024, let’s take a moment to reflect on the many wonderful tours that have started, continued, and come to an end in 2023. This year, The Cure has finally gotten back on tour. The Cure’s tour called “Shows for a Lost World” is ongoing in Latin America and has passed through the Chicago area, doing amazing shows worldwide. This is even more amazing, considering The Cure members purposely made tickets to their shows affordable for everyone, with customized artwork for each location on t-shirts and other merchandise. . The frontman, Robert Smith, had also gone to court with Ticket Master, making sure each of his fans could get affordable tickets. He has gone as far as playing a 3-hour set nonstop. The tour was amazing, and the artists ensured everyone could enjoy their music. The Cure was the highest-grossing tour of this year in 2023, making more money than even Taylor Swift. On a side note, Taylor Swift made second place this year with her Eras tour. Although tickets were extremely expensive, and fan craziness took place, she rightfully earned her second-place title. “...the artists ensured everyone could enjoy their music.”

Tryouts for the PJH girls' volleyball team were hosted for 6th and 7th graders on November 27th,28th, & 30th. As for the 8th grade, they were hosted on November 29th and December 4th and 5th. All of the tryouts were hosted from 3:05-5:00 pm. The girl’s first volleyball game will be held on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024. The girls will play at Parker, and they will play against Chicago Heights Middle School. Come cheer on your fellow falcons as we soar to the top!

After Georgia’s crushing loss to Alabama, they are no longer in the College Football Playoff picture. On the other hand, Michigan won THE GAME against Ohio State 24 - 30, thanks to Rod Moore’s interception in the game's final minute, practically sealing their championship dreams. Plus, they did this all without their coach, Jim Harbaugh, thanks to the sign-stealing incident, and with their fill-in Sherrone Moore. Luckily, they were able to get Harbaugh back on the sideline after his three-game suspension for their Big10 championship against number 16, Iowa’s strenuous defense, and they won 26-0. The Michigan Wolverines are scheduled to play the Crimson Tide in the Semi-finals on January 1, 2024. Go Blue!

It was about a cave boy wandering around and seeing lightning strike before discovering fire. Now, the DC industry is booming and is more successful than ever. The main central idea DC is famous for is the Justice League. It consists of a team of Superheroes– some of the names of the most famous ones are Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg, and the best for last… Batman! Fun Fact!! The first DC Comic, “New Fun,” costs about $57,000,000 today!! They all have very tragic or traumatizing backgrounds, from what I learned. Overall, DC now creates movies, live actions, and more comics.

They have come breathtakingly close. The Kansas City Chiefs are trying for their third straight Super Bowl title with a 9-5 record, losing to the Detroit Lions (who are having their best season in over 60 years), the Denver Broncos, the Green Bay Packers, the Buffalo Bills, and the Philadelphia Eagles, who have a 10-4 record after a heartbreaking defeat to the Seattle Seahawks. They have clinched a playoff spot but who they are facing is yet TBD. The Denver Broncos started the season with one of the worst records in the league with no wins (until after the Bears game), to now having a record of 7-7 after defeating the Cleveland Browns and then losing to the Houston Texans. The Detroit Lions, on the other hand, are at a 10-4 record after losing on Thanksgiving, which is expected, to the very unexpected Green Bay Packers. The Baltimore Ravens are in a very good playoff position with an 11-3 record, the losses sprinkled in randomly. Speaking of the Ravens, Mark Andrews #89 Tight End, suffered an ankle injury in the game against the Cincinnati Bengals and is out until further notice. Also, a massive loss for the Bengals as they lost their star quarterback, Joe Burrow #9, for the rest of the season with a wrist injury. D’Onta Foreman #21 of the Chicago Bears is also out until further notice. There have been many injuries going around as teams are losing their star players. On that note, talk about New York Jets IR quarterback Aaron Rodgers coming back seems unlikely, but ESPN.com says that Aaron Rodgers is trying to get back on the field, though it seems unlikely he will play next season for the Jets. The San Francisco 49ers are in the driver's seat, having clinched the NFC West division with one of the best records in the NFL, 11-3. Stay posted, and good luck to all your teams in the playoffs!
