A SUMMER TRADITION BY THE LAKE For over 30 years, the Cobourg Waterfront Festival has been one of Ontario’s most beloved summer events—drawing tens of thousands of visitors each year to the shores of Lake Ontario for a celebration of art, culture, music, and community. What began as a small Canada Day weekend gathering has grown into a three-day festival that transforms Cobourg’s historic waterfront into a vibrant hub of activity. The event is a true collaboration between the Town of Cobourg, the Cobourg Lions Club, and the Rotary Club of Cobourg, with each organization bringing its own energy and expertise to the experience. At its heart, the festival has always celebrated Cobourg’s unique sense of place: a beautiful lakeside town known for its welcoming atmosphere, rich heritage, and postcard-perfect scenery. From the artisan market that winds through Victoria Park, to the lively entertainment stage, family fun zones, food trucks, and Canada Day celebrations, the festival offers something for every visitor—whether you’re discovering Cobourg for the first time or returning year after year. The Cobourg Waterfront Festival isn’t just an event—it’s a highlight of the summer season and a perfect reason to explore one of Ontario’s most charming small towns. Come for the day. Stay for the weekend. Fall in love with Cobourg. BAGEL BAR & BAKERY Where good vibes, great service, and feeling at home come together. 289-252-1054 /huntersholydough 32 King Street West, Cobourg

FESTIVAL HISTORY The Cobourg Waterfront Festival began in 1967 as a modest art and craft show on Victoria Beach, celebrating Canada’s Centennial with a fireworks display organized by local firefighters. In 1987, the Cobourg Rotary Club of Cobourg and Lions Club of Cobourg, along with a dedicated volunteer committee, revitalized and expanded the event. Today, it stands as one of Ontario’s largest summer festivals, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year. Held annually over the Canada Day long weekend, the festival features a blend of arts and crafts, live entertainment, amusement rides, food vendors, and a spectacular fireworks display. It’s a cherished tradition that continues to unite the Cobourg community and visitors in celebration. 20 #COBOURGWATERFRONTFESTIVAL | EXPERIENCECOBOURG.CA

THEY’LL BE HAPPIER AT HOME We love pets. You love pets. But let’s be honest—they’re not here for the food trucks or the crowds. The Cobourg Waterfront Festival is hot, busy, loud, and full of distractions: music, fireworks, food everywhere (on the ground, in hands, falling off plates…)—and while it’s all fun for us, it’s a lot for our fourlegged friends. Even the most easygoing pets can get overwhelmed, protective, or just plain stressed out in this environment. And frankly, dodging dropped hot dogs isn’t their idea of a great day. So while we’d love to see every wagging tail, we ask that you leave pets at home where they can enjoy the air conditioning and peace and quiet. (Service animals, of course, are always welcome in line with AODA guidelines.) This policy keeps everyone safer—visitors, vendors, and especially your pet. Skip the stress. Let them nap. You enjoy the fun. Deal? 40 #COBOURGWATERFRONTFESTIVAL | EXPERIENCECOBOURG.CA

HOW TO BE A RESPONSIBLE FESTIVAL-GOER LEAVE NOTHING BEHIND Help keep our beautiful waterfront clean. Use the bins provided, and pack out anything you brought in. A clean festival is a happy festival. The geese and ducks will thank you too. SUPPORT LOCAL VENDORS From handmade crafts to delicious food, the Waterfront Festival is full of hardworking vendors. When you buy local, you support small businesses, artists, and our regional economy. Even a small purchase makes a big difference. TRAVEL SUSTAINABLY Consider biking, carpooling, or using the free shuttle service when coming to the festival. Not only is it better for the planet, but it also saves you the stress and cost of parking! SNAP RESPONSIBLY Take lots of photos, but remember to be respectful when capturing the moment — not everyone wants to be in your selfie and not everyone wants their homes on Instagram! Don’t forget to connect and share the love online. #cobourgwaterfrontfestival #experiencecobourg BE SUN SMART & WEATHER READY Pack your sunscreen, a hat, and dress in layers. The weather can change quickly near the water, so plan ahead to stay comfortable and safe — rain or shine! BE KIND & COMMUNITY-MINDED Festivals bring people together. Be courteous to volunteers, respect personal space, and lend a hand if someone needs it. A little kindness goes a long way.
