at Autumn Styles | 2018 FABRIC OF THE SEASON Luxurious Jewel Tones INSPIRING INTERIORS A beach inspired interior make over

Hello, it’s Elizabeth here! Welcome to the rst edition of, Elegance at home, with Elizabeth Styles. Each season I will share with you soft furnishing ideas, hints, tips and real-life case studies of some of the transformations we’ve created. Hopefully you’ll glean some inspiration to make your house a home you love! If you are one of my very loyal clients that have already followed my journey thank you so much, Elizabeth Styles would not have ourished without your continued custom and referrals, it is very much appreciated. It’s almost time to say goodbye to the glorious summer we had, I know I’m sorry to mention it! With cooler weather fast approaching its time to update your home to match the seasonal change. This month I’m oering style inspiration to get your home Autumn ready. Put the kettle on, nestle in a cosy chair and spend the next few minuets dreaming up some ideas for your home. Top Interior Trends for Autumn Jewel tones are making a comeback, think sapphire blue, emerald green, topaz and amethyst. I love this armchair upholstered in this luxurious navy velvet. The edition of a single feature chair will transform any room, also mixing textures and styles gives a more considered look to your home. The metalic gold legs perfect this piece, gold and brass metals are going nowhere this season! If your not feeling particularly brave and an injection of a bold colour seems a step too far then try adding luxurious textured fabrics such as short pile velvets, silks and taeters in pastel jewel tones. Alternitivley, the addition of a few scatter cushions are a perfect way to introduce trends to your home. The new Hatton range is elegant in everyway. The deep Jewel tones, rich velvets and sleek silks can be used to create impact interiors or simple sophistication, our options are endless! We can combine any colours and create some wonderful cushions that will prove a hit and a nod to the current trend without going OTT! Adding a couple of cushions are a great way to instantly transform any room.

Everyone is talking Wallpaper! From botanicals to stripes it’s a great way to add texture to your interior. It also seems we are feeling brave enough to paper all four walls, rather than just the previously featured wall. Wall papers are now taking a role as works of art and there are some beautiful murals available. Something a little subtler is this lovely mineral teal colour with an addition of metallic detail to add depth and texture to your space. You heard it here rst.... Peacock’s and bright beautiful birds are set for take-o, (mind the pun) replacing amingos. The royal blue and aqua tomes will look amazing and really bring your home to life! Don’t be afraid of colour, it really can be your best friend if used in the right way and keep you feeling proud, inspired and delighted with your interiors. Many of my clients are superstitious of birds… I’m not sure of the reasons behind it, let me know your thoughts.

Fabric of the Season | Kohinoor, by James Hare Fabrics Keeping with the Jewel tones of the season, hands down had to take centre stage. Named after the most famous diamond in the world, the luminescent fabric ows with a light similar to the multi-coloured facets of its namesake. Iridescent colours are created by using specic weaves to achieve maximum colour vibrancy. At the heart of the fabric can be found a diamond shape and its subtlety is both elegant and glamorous. I particularly love Kohinoor pastel, a gentle and timeless tone that can be used in almost any room. Add a bold pop of colour to use as an accent within your space and you have an instant designer feel. If your feeling bold, opt for Kohinoor Jewel. The name says it all. Deep luxurious shades of amber, amethyst, topaz and sapphires, bound to dazzle and add warmth to any room. This would work beautifully in a bedroom to create a bohemian vibe. Pair with a rich velvet headboard and some beautiful silk cushions and you’ll have created a dreamy bedroom to envy!

Client Case Study This dramatic seascape room has been transformed into a cosy retreat for lounging about and reading. This is the 8th room in this clien home that we have transformed! I have so much appreciation for them trusting my judgement, giving me free reign to explore new ideas and enhancing my creativity. I am delighted to now call them my friends and love spending time with them discussing home decoration and interiors. The largest statement in the room is the wonderful landscape painting with teals, midnight blues, emerald and bottle greens. The design was created using the painting as our focal and a cosy and relaxed beach vibe was created! The pelmet over the window recreates the dramatic rolling hills in the image. We chose a natural Silma silk, colour Harbour, which has an almost linen texture to it, keeping with the theme of the natural linen and cotton fibres in the sofa. The star of the show and lightens the room is the Vienne Seaglass silk by James Hare. Its unique texture is luxurious and fluid and almost metallic in some lights, adding a touch of femininity and balance to the room.

The full length natural sheer voile emulates the natural tones of a sandy beach, conceals the PVC surround of the floor length windows, whilst maintains light flowing through the room. If you have bi-folding doors, patio doors or simply a window that is over looked or feels a little too exposed we have a wonderful and wide range of voiles available to dress your window. Images never do a job justice, but I hope you can appreciate the impact the soft furnishings have made to this space. I hope you enjoyed taking 5 minuets out of your day to relax, be in the moment and hopefully explore ideas for any future projects you might have on the horizon. As always, I would be delighted to discuss with you or your contacts any ideas you may have in making your house the home you love! I would be delighted if you would share your copy of Elegance at Home with a friend or family member.
