IN BETWEEN CONES (TWEENER) • Supplemental set for wheels with shallow wheel centers • Shallow cone angles provide more accurate mounting • Example vehicles requiring these cones include Ford Edge and Chevy Malibu ACCURATE BALANCING The center isn’t what it used to be Many alloy wheels do not have a simple tapered center any more. There are a number of different taper angles being used. Plus, after the structural part of the center, the wheel may have a narrow cosmetic front. It is critical for accurate balancing that the cone supports the wheel on the structural taper. Incorrect contact can allow the wheel to move while on the balancer, giving false readings or chasing weights. A: Back Cone Spacer • Allows for the standard “D” cone to be used as a back one on an 850 through XR Series Balancers • Often needed for applications using the #4 pin plate • Different Part Number for use on 775 / 875 / 1175 SHALLOW CONE ANGLES B: Short Cone • Required to prevent contact with the cosmetic face found on Cadillac Seville, Olds Silhouette, Pontiac Grand Prix & Trans Sport and Chrysler LH Chassis models C: Ford ULA Cone • The Ultra Low Angle Cone is specified by Ford to be used on 2003 and newer F150, Expedition & Navigator wheels in conjunction with a pin plate or finger plate 482-81134 ASCOT NO.
