The government is interested in completing this project as soon as possible to start the international activities at Dholera SIR. The airport will have the capacity to accommodate twelve hundred national and international passengers at the same time. The airport will have two runways integrated with all the worldclass facilities and infrastructure.
The total budget for the airport is around 1378 crores, and the major part of this amount is pooled in by various international investors and from public-private partnerships. Metro rail: To provide the easy and fast transport services linking all the important points between the cities of Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Dholera a 100-kilometer metro train linkage will be established soon. The project will be carried out in two different phases, the first phase will cover an area of 61.55 kilometres and the second phase will cover an area of 38.45 kilometres. The first phase is aimed to connect Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar while the second phase will connect Ahmedabad to Dholera. The government wants to complete this project as soon as possible. The Metro train project is aimed to facilitate 80,000 passengers daily, 40,000 from each side. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2031 and will require a budget of about 10,773 cores.
