Ivan Valenzuela Public Services “I know people who recommended this college to me and the Public Services course caught my eye. I admire people who are heroes, who do special things for their community and provide protection for people. I’ve been doing the course for a year and already I understand a lot more about work in the services - communication, teamwork and the importance of fitness. The lessons are good and we are competitive with each other in the fitness sessions. It is good to be given individual targets. I’ve progressed from Level 2 to 3 and am studying GCSE English and maths as well. I see myself maybe working in the fire and rescue service in the future, but I am enjoying everything about the course and will see where it takes me!” Sitara Nabi Sitara entered the AHT (Association of Hairdressers and Therapists) National Finals in Blackpool and won an award in the ‘Fantasy’ Category. You can see why in this amazing photo taken of her model at the judging stage! Sitara’s tutor said: “She is creative and shows attention to detail. All the skills she has learned on the course are on display in her work.” Sitara’s classmate, Vanessa Odenyiyi, won first place in the African Styling category at the same competition. 13 cnwl.ac.uk
