NEW SOUTH WALES In partnership with Netball New South Wales, funding from the Confident Girls Foundation supported five key initiatives in 2025, reaching children and young people across Sydney metropolitan and regional New South Wales, including CALD communities, First Nations communities, and those facing socioeconomic disadvantage. Harmony Day A dedicated Harmony Day event was held at Whitlam Leisure Centre, Liverpool, for 100 students in Years 7–10 from local intensive English centres. Students participated in cultural activities including African drumming, Bollywood dancing, Indigenous storytelling, and practical netball sessions, with access to elite SNN players. Funding covered free participation and transport, ensuring all students could attend. Netball Community Engagement Program with Stars Foundation In Tamworth, a one-day program supported 40 Indigenous girls and young women from four local schools. The day included netball skills, an EmpowerPlay session to build self-awareness and confidence, game play, and lunch. All Abilities Roadshow Three primary schools in Northwest Sydney hosted the inaugural All Abilities Roadshow, engaging 74 students with a disability in inclusive netball skills and games. The program focused on teamwork, confidence, and participation, with plans to expand in 2026. 10 | Koori Gala Days Seven events were delivered across NSW, including Kempsey, Kiama, Wyong, Tamworth, Dubbo, Raymond Terrace, and Mount Druitt. Highlights included 418 players from 39 teams in Mt Druitt and 449 players from 40 teams in Dubbo. Events offered cultural experiences, entertainment, and pathways to the First Nations Emerging Talent Camp. Mother Daughter Program Piloted in Griffith, this four-week program engaged local mothers and children, particularly from high-CALD backgrounds. Sessions combined active movement, netball skills, and opportunities to socialise, fostering connection and confidence in both mothers and children.
