Volume 2, Issue 4 December 2019 A s CARICAD looks toward its 40th anniversary celebrations in 2020, the organisation’s Executive Director Devon Rowe reflects on the year 2019, which is rapidly approaching conclusion. We hope that our readers enjoy this special edition. Horizon: Mr. Rowe, tell us about CARICAD’s achievements in 2019. Rowe: The resurgence of CARICAD gained further momentum during 2019. In an attempt to ensure the visibility of the organisation, several measures were actioned, including updates to public communication channels, presenting at conferences and workshops, as well as appearances in the media. Another key area of visibility has been with regard to the increased requests and delivery of technical assistance to member states.  Continues on the pages which follow Participants and team leaders on the final day/graduation for the customised Emerging Leaders’ Development Programme for the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank. The programme was delivered between September to November 2019 for 24 emerging leaders at the ECCB. Seated (third from right) is CARICAD’s Dr. Lois Parkes. As part of its succession strategy, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) collaborated with CARICAD to deliver an Emerging Leaders’ Development Programme for 24 of its identified emergent leaders. The programme was aimed at developing in participants an increased capacity to confidently Author their own Leadership Style, and to apply improved strategic thinking, decision-making, innovative thinking, and interpersonal skills to execute current and future leadership roles to promote Successful Emerging Leaders’ Development Programme for the ECCB the strategic direction of the ECCB. The programme was delivered in two modules between September and November 2019, and also included the completion of four innovative group assignments as major contributors to the implementation of the ECCB’s strategic plan. The programme approach was closely aligned with the organisational realities faced by the ECCB.  Continues on page 2 1
