Vogler T he Town of Saugus website has 16 fulltime government jobs posted, including several key administrative positions. At the top of the list is the assistant DPW director, which requires an engineering degree and pays an annual salary of $90,000 to $120,000. This position would assist in the oversight of the department’s daily operations as well as short- and long-term planning, budgeting and the development of those positions. Town Manager Scott C. Crabtree has also planned on hiring a senior planner and conservation agent for the Planning & Conservation Department. The starting salary range is $80,000 to $120,000 annually. The person who fi lls this position would report to the Director of Planning & Economic Development and the town administrator. The position of Human Resources Director has a starting salary range of $80,000 to $110,000 and would report directly to the town manager. Other jobs posted on the town website include: • The Veterans’ Service Officer, a non-union position that pays $75,000 to $85,000 a year. The major duties of this position are to provide comprehensive support and services to the Veterans’ Community in the town and to perform administrative and social welfare work, to provide financial benefi ts, employment assistance, counseling and a variety of additional services to veterans and their families. • The Cemetery Superintendent, a position that pays $65,000 to $75,000 annually. The job entails performing a variety of supervisory, administrative, technical and maintenance duties related to the planning, construction and operation of the Town of Saugus cemeteries. • Police Matron, at a per diem pay rate of $20.60 per hour. This civilian would work under the command of the operations manager and is supervised in the day-today tasks by the acting shift commander. The main duty is to assist and monitor all female prisoners who are held in the holding facility of the Saugus Police Station. • Full-time Conservation Officer at an annual salary range of $65,000 to $85,000. Full-time attendance is required at all evening meetings. The job’s duties involve professional, technical and administrative responsibilities in support of the Conservation Commission. • Human Resources generalists, a job that pays $65,000 to $80,000 a year • Forestry foreman, starting at $69,896.54 annually. Working under direction of the DPW, this position is responsible for supervising and performing a variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair and care of town trees and shrubs; must be available for emergency services 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year. • Utility billing meter operations manager has a beginning salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 a year.
