Candidates have spent I the past couple of months working tirelessly on their campaigns, in the hopes of winning over voters. So who and what should you be on the lookout for in the remaining weeks? For the mayoral race, In(Paid political advertisement) cumbent Mayor Brian Arrigo is facing off against certified candidate Daniel Rizzo. Arrigo has been mayor of Revere for the past four years, achieving many different things during his time in office, from the substance abuse disorder initiative to repairing the city streets. Certified candidate Daniel Rizzo has been a member of the Revere City Council since 2000, and served as the mayor of Revere until January 2016. During his one term as mayor he commissioned a review of the Revere Police Department and helped increase summer job opportunities for Revere students. There are currently 14 candidates who are running for Councillor-at-Large. The incumbents are certified candidates Jessica Giannino, Steven Morabito, George Rotondo and Anthony Zambuto. They will face off against challengers certified candidates Robert Capoccia, John Correggio, Richard Ireton, Dimple Rana, Wayne Rose, Philip Russo, Kevin Sanchez, Brian Vesce and Gerry Visconti. There are 10 seats to fill in this role. ELECT RICHARD IRETON Councillor-at-Large . (Paid Political Adv.) For Wards 1, 3 and 4, incumbents Joanne McKenna, Arthur Guinasso and Patrick Keefe will run unopposed. For Ward 2, incumbent Ira Novoselsky will face off against certified candidate Robert Bent. In Ward 5 incumbent John Powers will go up against certified candidate Eric Lampedecchio. Perhaps one of biggest races this election is for the open seat in Ward 6. Certified candidates Nicholas Moulaison, Sr., will join certified candidates Francis Sarro and Richard Serino in running for this open seat. The School Committee has nine candidates who are running this year. The incumbents are Stacey Bronsdon-Rizzo, Michael Ferrante, Susan Gravellese and ELECTION DAY | SEE PAGE 8
