Esther was also a longtime member of the First Nazarene Church of Malden. She is survived by her daughters, Susanne M. Nadeau of Newburyport, and Pamela J. Nadeau of Reading, her grandchildren, Michael, Carly, and James, and her great grandchildren, Bianca and Marcos. Esther was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her mother, Fannie Sawyer, and her siblings, Victor Sawyer, Mary Nelson, June Crenshaw, and Ann Maccioli.
