THE MALDEN ADVOCATE–Friday, August 16, 2019 Page 13 Atria Maplewood Place Challenges Bertucci's Italian Restaurant to Chef Showdown Competition to Separate the Mild from the en Fuego in a Test of Culinary Chops A tria Chef, Steven Rumbolt, and Bertucci’s Chef, Lenny Miller, will go head-to-head in a cooking face off with only one rule. All recipes must include an ingredient savored with both the sweet and spicy: the pepper. The competition will be judged by a panel of Atria Maplewood Place residents and guests from Malden, including City of Malden Mayor, Gary Christianson, City of Malden DPW Director, Bob Knox, & DAV State Senior Vice-Commander, Deb Olson. The winner will receive a trophy, gift basket & bragging rights. This year’s event is the fifth annual Chef Showdown was held in July at Atria Maplewood Place located at 295 Broadway in Malden where previous competitors at Atria Senior Living communities across the country included a Master Chef Junior winner and Super Bowl champion. This year’s winner was Steven Rumbolt of Atria Maplewood Place with a vegetarian chili. Lenny Miller of Bertucci's in Medford is in the black chef coat & he made Rigatoni Abruzzi from their restaurant menu
