Page 10 THE MALDEN ADVOCATE–Friday, July 30, 2021 It is said in Malden... hat one of the most eagerly-anticipated "returns" this year is the Annual Feast of St. Rocco, which was postponed for the first time ever last year due to COVID-19, but is set to return the weekend of August 6, 7 & 8 on Pearl Street in Edgeworth. *** This year's St. Rocco's feast will be the 91st event held, one of the longest-running annual events in city of Malden history. *** That the closely-watched City Councillor at Large race will have six candidates listed on the ballot with the lone incumbent Craig Spadafora facing off with four newcomers and one former Ward Councillor, John Matheson. **** That there will be a three-candidate preliminary election for Ward 8 City Councillor in September, with incumbent Jadeane Sica taking on two challengers, with the top two vote getters moving on to the final election in November. **** That the recent Malden Babe Ruth League Baseball City Championship won by the Flames was the 7th title under Manager Deano Summers, the only team boss in "franchise" history, with the win even sweeter as one of the top Flames players is his son, Jacky Summers. **** That the recurring rainstorms which always seem to come right around early evening have been a nightmare for Malden teams and any other outdoor programs which have been besieged by rainouts and rescheduling.
