Special to The Advocate F I A rare occurrence in Malden Babe Ruth Baseball last week! “When was the last time two brothers on the same team pitched in the SAME GAME in Malden BRL?” Well, no one could recall, and it is definitely something longtime league followers would remember. It happened the other night when the Knights were playing the Flames. Above, from left, are Knights co-manager Tylor West, Kevin Turner (starting pitcher), who is a rising sophomore at Malden Catholic, Mason Campo (catcher) and Cole Turner (relief pitcher), a rising freshman at Malden Catholic. The Turners are the sons of Kevin and Julie (Willcox) Turner. Kevin is a Malden Catholic alumnus himself. The late, longtime Knights manager Bob Rotondi, who passed away a year ago this past May, would have been proud! The game was played on the field named in his honor, Rotondi Field at Howard Park. Also, Bob definitely would have been able to answer the “Question of the ‘Knight’” with his encyclopedic memory of all things Malden Babe Ruth. —Steve Freker ive years ago Malden resident Mark Micheli watched as his wife battled for her life against a riptide far off the shore DOCUMENTARY | SEE PAGE 8 Sen.
