THE MALDEN ADVOCATE–Friday, June 3, 2022 Page 5 Musical lineup for June 4 Malden Summer Festival announced Temporary outdoor concert venue being created in Malden Center T he City of Malden is pleased to announce that this year’s Malden Summer Festivals have an amazing lineup of bands and other musical performers. To maximize the experience for festival-goers, the city is creating an outdoor venue downtown so attendees can enjoy an eclectic and dynamic array of performers. • Kicking off the festival at noon will be Grooversity, an innovative and creative drumming network project created by Brazilian percussionist Marcus Santos. • Following that, the Mark Cataldo Trio will kick off the main stage with a “gypsy” jazz performance. • Discompany, a dance band playing hits from the 70’s and 80’s, will delight with hits from disco, funk, pop and rock. • The Eric German Latin Sextet offers aggressive and swinging salsa music that is appealing to both the musicians and the dancers. • Closing the show that day will be Terry Borderline, a performer and recording artist ushering knowledge into the world PROTECT your PET!
