Page 6 THE EVERETT ADVOCATE–Friday, August 30, 2019 Mayor pens letter in support of Mystic River Pedestrian Bridge O n August 21, Mayor Carlo DeMaria wrote to the Department of Waterways Regulation Program in support of the Mystic River Pedestrian Bridge. “The construction of the Mystic River Pedestrian Bridge is truly a top priority for the City of Everett, one that the City is counting on to provide additional mobility to support development on Lower Broadway as well as complete the bicycle and pedestrian network to the North Shore,” said DeMaria. “We believe that any environmental impacts related to the construction of the bridge are outweighed, by an order of magnitude, by the positive effects of creating a new transit, bicycle and pedestrian connection to the City of Everett.” On August 15, the Everett Conservation Commission approved the Order of Conditions for the Mystic River Pedestrian Bridge to continue to move forward. Edward “Eddie” Poste celebrates 75th birthday P opular lifelong Everett resident Eddie Poste celebrated his 75th birthday with more than 200 family and friends at the Somerville City Club on August 17. Poste is a graduate of the Everett High School Class of 1962 and has lived down the “Lynde” neighborhood his entire life.
