2017 Kentuckiana Business Hall of Fame Laureates Three legendary leaders... one spectacular evening! Three of Greater Louisville’s outstanding business and civic leaders were inducted into the Kentuckiana Business Hall of Fame to benefit Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana. The event was held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Louisville Marriott Downtown Marriott Ballroom. A reception honoring the inductees began at 6 p.m. followed by the awards dinner at 7 p.m. The evening, hosted by Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana along with title sponsor WDRB-TV and dinner sponsor Crowe Horwath, LLP, recognized individuals for their significant contributions to the Greater Louisville business and civic communities. Those honored demonstrate business excellence; courageous thinking and actions; vision and innovation; inspiring leadership; and community involvement. They are role models for our future generations. The Laureates are chosen by a selection committee independent of the Junior Achievement Board of Directors, staff and WDRB-TV. The Kentuckiana Business Hall of Fame was founded in 1982. These distinguished business leaders joined 110 previously honored Kentuckiana Business Hall of Fame recipients: Diane B. Medley, Managing Partner of MCM CPAs & Advisors, Victor A. Staffieri, Chairman & CEO of LG&E and KU Energy, LLC, and Paul C. Varga, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Brown-Forman Corporation. “What a terrific honor to be asked to serve as the Honorary Chairman of the Junior Achievement 2017 Kentuckiana Business Hall of Fame Dinner. JA teaches some of the most important skills a human being can have – a basic understanding of money, budgets, and business. These are lifelong skills that can encourage our young people to be successful in their future endeavors. For years Junior Achievement has recognized business leaders who have had a significant and positive impact in our Community and the 2017 honorees represent some of the best role models our children could ever have. Please join me in congratulating the 2017 Kentuckiana Business Hall of Fame Laureates for all that they have done for Kentuckiana and for their contributions that will inspire future business leaders.” Theodore H. Nixon, Chairman & CEO D. D. Williamson & Co., Inc.
