Note from Pastor Jana School has started. This is a first for us. We have to get in the rhythm of a new routine. Our goal is to be ready by 7:30. We have always woken up early enough, but there was never urgency to leave by a certain time. So, we got up and went at a slow pace.Sometimes, that was tested with some earlier days, but the more pressing time of not being tardy has made us change our ways. We have had to shift our priorities in the morning. Our focus has changed making us more alert and ready. It’s time for all of us, not just our church, but the church as a whole who need this reset. We need to shift our priorities and focus on the important matters. Ephesians 5:14-17 Wake up from your sleep,Climb out of your coffins; Christ will show you the light! So watch your step. Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times! Don’t live carelessly, unthinkingly. Make sure you understand what the Master wants. First, wake up from your sleep! This is a call to make us be alert, to be aware. What is going in the world right now that needs God’s light to be made known? Ask yourself that question and see if God is calling you to be that light. Make the most of every chance you get. Instead of feeling grumpy about how things are, we need to be finding the moments right now and embrace them.We should celebrate every opportunity that someone comes in our church’s doors. Every moment is from God and we need to celebrate that. Make joy happen every chance you get. These are desperate times. We feel that. Oh how we feel that these are desperate times. But, that means we even more so need God. Be sure that you are putting your trust and hope in God. This passage reminds us to make sure we understand what God desires from us. So we turn to God in desperate times. We know God is the source of comfort, hope, guidance, and joy. We turn to God who can reassure us that this moment may seem daunting, but by resting in God’s strength, courage, faithfulness—we can be reassured we are not alone. In Christ, Pastor Jana
