Note from Pastor Jana As fall approaches, we find ourselves drawn to the comforts of the season. The cooler days invite us to snuggle under a warm blanket, dive into a good book, or savor a steaming cup of coffee or tea. It's a time that feels cozy and restful—a much-needed reprieve from the chaos that seems to fill our lives lately. These past months have been a whirlwind, and it’s easy to feel worn down by everything happening in the world. On those gray, chilly days, the temptation to retreat back into bed can be strong. But as we’re reminded in Ephesians 5:14-17: *“Wake up from your sleep, climb out of your coffins; Christ will show you the light! So watch your step. Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times! Don’t live carelessly, unthinkingly. Make sure you understand what the Master wants.”* This passage is a call to action—a reminder to stay alert and aware. What situations around us need God’s light to shine through? Maybe you’re being called to be that light. Instead of letting the challenges we face make us weary or grumpy, let’s focus on seizing the moments we have right now. Find and create joy at every opportunity. Yes, these are desperate times. We feel the weight of that every day. But in these times, our need for God is even greater. Let’s make sure we’re putting our trust and hope in God, who is our source of comfort, guidance, and joy. This scripture reminds us to seek out God’s desires for us, especially in difficult times. When we rest in God’s strength and faithfulness, we can be reassured that we are not alone—and that God is still calling us to act, even now. Blessings, Pastor Jana
