Wesley United Methodist Church June 2026 Newsletter What’s Inside: Pastor’s Note Dinner Church UMM & UWF Missions Trustees Upcoming Events

Note from Pastor Jana As summer begins, the pace of life often becomes just as busy as every other season. Schedules fill quickly, travel begins, and many of us move from one activity to the next without much time to breathe. During the weeks of June 14–28, our congregation will enter into a gentle season of reset and rest together. Throughout these weeks in worship, prayer, and reflection, we will focus on God’s invitation to slow down, listen deeply, and rediscover the gift of peace. Rest is not simply the absence of activity; it is a spiritual practice that reminds us we belong to God before we belong to our calendars, responsibilities, or worries. Part of this focus comes from my recent experience in Taizé, France. This is a unique ecumenical Christian community known around the world for its simple prayers, reflective worship, and beautiful meditative music. Taizé worship creates space for silence, repetition, scripture, and song to settle deeply into the heart. It is a reminder that faith does not always have to be loud or hurried to be meaningful. During worship this month, I will share reflections and insights from that experience, especially how intentional silence and simple practices can help renew our spiritual lives. The song we sign each will carry us throughout the week and calming enough to help us center ourselves in God’s presence. My hope is that these weeks offer something many people deeply need: permission to pause. Whether through prayer, worship, music, time outdoors, or quiet moments at home, may this season become an opportunity to reconnect with God’s peace and presence. “Come to me, all you who are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 Pastor Jana
