Wesley United Methodist Church August 2026 Newsletter What’s Inside: Pastor’s Note Prayer Practices UMM & UWF Missions Breaks Upcoming Events

Note from Pastor Jana There is something about August that feels like a fresh start. The school buses begin rolling again. Teachers prepare their classrooms. Families settle back into familiar routines. Calendars begin to fill, and the slower pace of summer gives way to a new rhythm. While January is often considered the season for new beginnings, Also, August carries that same feeling. As Christians, we know that every season offers an opportunity to begin again— not because our calendars change, but because God’s grace is always new. Scripture reminds us, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19). God is continually at work, inviting us to notice where new life is growing and calling us to join in. This month, many in our community will be stepping into new classrooms, new jobs, new routines, or new challenges. Some are excited. Others may be anxious. Still others may be carrying burdens that no one else can see. Whatever this season holds, we can trust that God goes before us. We never walk into a new beginning alone. Our church is entering a new season as well. As summer winds down, ministries begin to pick up again. Dinner Church returns, our outreach ministries continue serving our neighbors, choirs and groups resume gathering, and we have new opportunities to worship, serve, and grow together. These ministries are not simply events on a calendar—they are ways we live out Christ’s love in our community. As we begin this season, I invite you to ask a simple question: Where is God inviting me to grow? Perhaps it is returning to worship more consistently. Perhaps it is joining a small group, serving in a ministry, reaching out to someone who feels alone, or simply making space each day to pray and read Scripture. Whatever your next faithful step may be, remember that God is already at work. The Holy Spirit continues to shape us, encourage us, and send us into the world with hope. May this new season be one marked not only by busy schedules but by renewed faith, deeper relationships, and a growing awareness of God’s presence in our lives. Grace and peace, Pastor Jana Green
