It focuses on people search (including portable baggage) and uses a combination of controlled training areas and live environments preparing candidates for transition into the workplace. The learner will be provided with specialised knowledge that is expected from a professional search dog team. It will enable those learners to work as a Passive Drug Detection Dog Handler either independently or as part of an organisation. Proactive Drug Detection Dog Handler Course - £1,400 Wed 24 Jul - Tues 30 July (Module 1) Wed 7 Aug - Tues 13 Aug (Module 2) Wed 6 Nov – Tues 12 Nov (Module 1) Wed 20 Nov – Tues 26 Nov (Module 2) The Wagtail Award in Proactive Drug Detection Dog Handler is a delivery-only learning programme written and owned by Wagtail and endorsed by Highfield Awarding Body of Compliance (HABC). The course takes place at our North Wales Training Centre, which is accredited by HABC. Service and ex-service personnel, eligible for the MOD’s Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) Scheme, can use their Credits towards funding this course. This programme is aimed at learners who want to work with proactive drug detection dogs and gives them the specialised knowledge that is expected from a professional search dog team. It will enable those learners to work as a proactive drug detection dog handler. either independently or as part of an organisation.
