A spokesperson for the Welsh Veterans Awards said: “Well done to everyone who was shortlisted as finalists. We had a huge amount of applications and the shortlisting process was extremely difficult. “We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who put forward nominations. “We want to inspire our future service leaders that great things can happen. It’s them who will act as role models, and in some cases as mentors. Positivity breeds positivity.” Wagtail’s award-winning services on show The services of Wagtail’s award-winning detection dogs were showcased at the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) Symposium 2019. As a Corporate Affiliate Member of the CTSI, Wagtail works with Trading Standards bodies across the country, using sniffer dogs to help officers detect illegal tobacco, drugs and cash. It is the 9th time Wagtail has attended the Symposium, and the 6th year the company was a sponsor of the event, which was this year held at Hilton Brighton Metropole, in Brighton, from June 10-12. During the Symposium, our CTSI award-winning tobacco sniffer dog, Alfie, met Kelly Tolhurst, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Small Business, Consumers and Corporate Responsibility. The BORDERPOL Global Forum gave Wagtail the chance to network with other international border companies, allowing us to exchange information and learn new ways to plan and solve the critical issues faced by border agencies worldwide. Sniffer dogs showcased at security expo Wagtail showcased its services during a high-profile security expo. The Security Event at Birmingham’s NEC brought together a world-class education programme, market leaders and industry experts in UK security. Managing Director, Collin Singer, said: “It was a very productive event for us with some excellent speakers, and gave us the chance to speak to hundreds of attendees about our highly-trained detection dogs in the worlds of explosives, illegal tobacco, cash and conservation.” The next Security Event is planned for April 28-30 2020.
