Barren Mare or Gelding – 3 years upwards The Challis Cup to the Champion Shire Horse The Dorothy Ramsden Rosebowl for Junior Champion1-2 yr olds in Classes 3&4 £20 to Champion Shire, £10 to Reserve Only horses in the Shire Horse Stud Book or Grading Register may compete in Classes 1 – 5. Also entry is restricted to paid members of the Shire Horse Society. Animals in Grade Register ‘A’ can compete in the Shire Horse Classes at Affiliated Shows, but only those animals in the Stud Book or Grade Register ‘B’ can compete for Silver Spoons. Entries cannot be accepted at Affiliated Shows in classes for Shires from any person who has been either suspended or removed from membership of the Shire Horse Society or has been excluded from exhibiting for prizes at shows, sales or exhibitions or from taking part in any show organised by the Shire Horse Society. No animal to be eligible to take more than one Silver Spoon during one year, the Royal and Shire Horse Society Shows being excepted. The Yorkshire Lower Dales Accumulator The 4 shows Aldborough, Weeton, Tockwith and Ripley are running an accumulator points system to compete for a trophy and £100 for first prize with other prizes down to 6th place. This competition is being sponsored by SHIRE AGGREGATES of BOROUGHBRIDGE. To qualify exhibitors must attend at least 2 out of the 4 shows and will be given points in each class down to 6th place . This competition is not open for decorated or turnout classes. The Trophy is to be presented at the last show ie Ripley.
