In 2013-2014, we celebrated the many new advancements to our chapter: opening membership up to all high school grade levels, inviting studio dancers, adding a website, email, and social media accounts. We developed a logo, letter jacket patch, and a newsletter with member-only benefits. We hosted 2 successful events; had a convention booth and workshop; and TDEA accepted our proposal to function as our parent organization. In 2014-2015, we announced our additions of student officers, who help plan and manage the chapter, and college ambassadors who write blogs about college dance life. We also added more social media; created a promo video; made our 1st TFDE t-shirt; and excitingly announced the launch of the new TFDE free web app! We hosted 2 fabulous events, added a social banquet, and even traveled to events around the state to promote TFDE. Plans After HS Go to a college in state Interested Major Dance education and history y University of Texas at Austin or Kilgore Undecided KC Rangerettes or University of Texas undecided Sam Houston State University Kinesiology Future Dance Plans? I want to become a dance teacher at a possibly Rangerettes:) Dance team In 2015-2016, we had our 1st TFDE member & officer, Oddalys, attend TDEA convention as an All-State student. We were so excited to have her back at Convention as a College Assistant. She is great proof of the ways TFDE can support your dancers and is the start of a stronger connection between TDEA and TFDE. We also added Professional Mentors that blog about their experiences in dance careers and added by-laws. Our Fall event, Emerging Dance Educators, helped students prepare for all of the various pedagogical and job seeking skills for a dance teacher and Spring brought our Newsletter, another great master class from our college ambassadors, and a fun social outing. And our most important update was the opening of the Northside ISD chapter in San Antonio. In 2016-2017 we added additional sponsors to our growing Chapter. We planned a phenomenal Fall Event that included a College Dance Performance followed by a College Dance Fair for all of Round Rock ISD. That evening all TFDE members were invited to a College Master Class and received goody bags from Showtime International. We celebrated with adding a 2nd Newsletter and finished the semester with a new feature: video blogs! T D E A C O N V E N T I O N This January we again attended the Texas Dance Educators Association (TDEA) annual convention in Houston. TDEA serves as the parent organization to TFDE and each year we are able to present and speak to the entire membership regarding the progress of TFDE. We held a booth in the exhibit hall for networking throughout the convention. We also introduced TFDE and hosted a table at the Collegiate Showcase . We were so happy to see so many of our members and followers as All-State students attending and performing at the convention as well! Looking forward to watching our followers continue to grow! If you are interested in joining us at next year’s convention, email us! We continue to thrive in 2017-2018! We are so excited to again have a full team of sponsors this year! We have a TFDE representative from every RRISD campus involved in making TFDE a huge success! We currently have 96 members that include students, teachers, and companies/studios . We would love for you to join us! Fingers crossed our chapters will continue to grow by next year’s update. Now in 2018-2019 we simply want to thank everyone who has gotten us to the place we are! We could’ve have become what we are today without it.! Your students deserve TFDE. If you are interested in this adventure, please feel free to email or chat with a Round Rock ISD teacher. We want to thank everyone that has been a part of the growth of TFDE and are so excited about the future!
