ALUMNI Cricket and Hockey After an excellent Sunday lunch, the sports players split up, with one group going to Aldersley for the hockey and the other to the pavilion for the cricket match. Both OT and School teams had a smattering of male players and the game was competitive and pretty even until towards the end, with the OTs running out 4 – 2 winners. When I arrived at the cricket match just after 3 pm, the OTs’ innings had already come to an end scoring just 115 for 9 wickets off their 25 overs. Main contributors for the OT side were Bhadar Sandhur (34) and Ronan Bagrey (30 not out). The School always looked well in control, scoring freely and just managed to hit the winning runs as the rain started. School captain Joe McCaig scored 59 of their 116 for 4 total. Oliver Margetts was the OTs most effective bowler with 2 wickets for just 9 runs. In the pavilion afterwards, OT President Peter Bodkin congratulated the School team for their win. Overall honours were even, with the OTs winners of the hockey and netball and the School winners of the football and cricket. He thanked David Williams and the College staff for all their help and hospitality over the weekend and all the sports players for making it a success. Our thanks also go to Gregg Spooner and Vicky Kibble for their hard work pulling together the OT teams. Stephen Corns (1962), Hon. Secretary, OT Committee 75
