BOARDING Casino Night Visiting London An International Perspective “Coming to England to study is not an easy decision for international students. For many it is the first time they have been away from their country for such a long time. However, thanks to the staff and other boarders I can say the transition was incredibly easy. As soon as I arrived at Tettenhall College, I was greeted with smiles and questions from other students, as well as understanding and support from the house parents. Boarding life is organised in such a way that nobody feels alone or left out at any moment. Being a boarder gave me opportunities I would not have had otherwise. Through weekly trips I got to explore England with visits to places like Oxford, Coventry and London as well as try activities such as go-karting. I also met people from many different countries. They introduced me to their culture but also gave me a chance to share my own. Our free time is often spent in the common room, playing board games, watching movies or cooking our favourite food with friends. In the two years I have been at Tettenhall College, I feel like I have created a whole new multinational family which has truly made me feel like the world is a small place after all.” Kana Ljaljevic, Year 13 41 Kana with friends Vicky and Tu Phan 41
