MUSIC AND PERFORMING AR TS We Will Rock You! We Will Rock You is set in a dystopian future in which real music has been outlawed, and only ‘the dreamer’ can save the fate of music as we know it! The fifty strong cast, superbly led by Dan Donnelly (Year 12) and Arabella Yardley (Year 10) as Galileo and Scaramouche, expertly performed many of Queen’s best known hits. Imogen Wright’s heart breaking performance of No One But You was truly spine-chilling. The comedic characters of Pop, (Svetoslav Zlatarev), and Britney (Dylan Williams) left the audience in stitches and were crucial in leading the Bohemians to their Rhapsody! The villains of the piece were brilliantly brought to life by William FletcherTaylor and McKenna Maddox. Head of Music, Gareth Howard’s debut musical at Tettenhall College was exceptional, with a tightly controlled band which supported the cast extremely well. Beth Lakin and Mel Uttley choreographed and produced a spectacle. Towers Theatre was truly rocking! Nathaniel Williams, Year 11 Arabella Joins National Youth Theatre Female lead of We Will Rock You, Arabella Yardley (Year 10) has been offered a place at the prestigious National Youth Theatre which boasts such luminaries as Daniel Craig, Daniel Day-Lewis, Helen Mirren and Kate Winslet. Mrs Yardley comments: “This is not only a testament to her own efforts and determination, but a reflection on the facilities and education offered by the dedicated and first rate teachers at the School.” “The ethos of the school is about bringing out the best in pupils. The span of participation and professionalism of pupils from all years, irrespective of the role, was heartwarming and truly impressive. Champions of the World... All!” Dave Fisher, Parent
