The roots of the Hacker's Tour can be traced to April 1996 as the core group of the current tour was known as the Southern Golf Amateur Tour. Back then, John Childs was the tour director. After Childs was unable to direct the tour because of other obligations, there was a two-year hiatus before The Hacker's Amateur Golf Tour was formed in Dec. 2000. Current director Peach Waller took over in June 2001 and the rest is history.The group heads into the 2022 season with over 240 tournaments in the books.
